My wife and I watched "Joe Pickett" over the past few weeks, and enjoyed it. Without spoiling anything, right now, I'm into weasels.
Recently I was fiddling around and needed a story that was in chapter format...chapter 1, chapter 2, etc. It didn't need to be long, just a few chapters.
At first, I considered writing a generic:
>This is the Title of the Story
>
>Chapter 1
>This is chapter 1 of the story.
>
>Chapter 2
>This is the second chapter, it is chapter 2.
>
>And so on.
But, I figured I could do a little better. So, being into weasels, I started a weasel story. My fiddling around project mostly failed, but I figured I might as well share the story anyway. For fun, I went to leonardo.ai and generated two images to go along with the story.
And, so...
### The Weasel and the Stoat
There once was a weasel who wished to follow a quest. The quest was to answer a riddle: the buidlr is he, the buidlr is she, the buidlr is we. Who is the buidlr?
Chapter 1
The weasel went up to the top of the mountain and asked the sage, "How can I find the answer to the question, "Who is the buidlr?"
The sage said, "You must visit A-town, B-town, C-town, D-town, and E-town. Then you will know the answer."
The weasel came down from the mountaintop and began his journey.
Chapter 2
Weasel went to A-town where he met a stoat. "Hi stoat," he said, "who is the buidlr?"
"I dunno," said stoat, "but here's a funny meme! It's important to have fun."
"That is funny indeed," said weasel, "and very true as well. Wanny join me on my journey?"
"Sure," said stoat.
And weasel and stoat moved on.
Chapter 3
In B-town, they came upon a ferret. Weasel said, "Hey ferret, who is the buidlr?"
"Not sure," said ferret, but while I was tunneling around this morning, I found this new ferret hole. It's important to explore and test new things."
"Oh, okay," said weasel, "good to know."
And weasel and stoat moved on.
Chapter 4
In C-town, they came upon an ermine. "You're pretty, ermine," said weasel.
"Thanks," said ermine, "not so bad yourself for a little guy."
"Say," said stoat, "who's the buidlr?"
"Not sure," said ermine, "I just try to make things look pretty. It's important for things to look nice."
And weasel and stoat moved on.
Chapter 5
In D-town, they came upon an otter swimming in the river. "Hello there otter," said weasel, "do you happen to know who the buidlr is?"
Otter paused a moment then said, "Howdy there! Nope, sorry, I don't know." Then he added, "Well, gotta get back to work now. It's important for things to work."
And weasel and stoat moved on.
Chapter 6
Finally, in E-town, weasel and stoat came upon the honey badger. Excited to be at the end of his journey, weasel shouted, "Hello honey badger! You look really busy doing honey badger things, but could you tell me, who is the buidlr?"
Honey badger paused, raised his chin and said, "I don't care," and went about doing honey badger things. Then he added, "It's important."
Chapter 7
Not sure what to do next, weasel and stoat went back to the mountain. They slowly climbed to the top, then weasel said to the sage, "I went to towns A through E, but I still don't know the answer to, "Who is the buidlr?"
Sage said, "Ahh, but you do know the answer. And, the answer was in the riddle itself all along: the buidlr is he, the buidlr is she, the buidlr is we. We are all the buildr."
The answer is: we all are the buidlr. Look it up:
The end
